SHAH RUKH KHAN GETS A CLEAN CHIT IN WANKHEDE BRAWL CASE

Mumbai: Police to close an inquiry against actor Shah Rukh Khan for using abusive language in presence of children causing them mental suffering during Wankhede stadium brawl in 2012 and they have submitted the closure report in a court last month.

The police relied upon Khan’s statement where he said that it was not his voice—use of abusive language during the brawl—that was played on internet and TV channels. The police had also submitted statement of other witnesses including Khan’s kids after stating that most of them admitted that there was altercation between Khan and stadium security. But none of them heard Khan using foul language that was played on TV news channels after the incident.

“We will file a protest petition before the metropolitan magistrate RM Jadhav against the police report. The police submitted a report with alternative version of event. What Khan said in audio is a matter of evidence to be taken in court and not in an inquiry. The purpose of the Inquiry is to determine if there is sufficient material to proceed or not, not to determine innocence or guilt of accused” said advocate Aditya Singh, representing a petitioner Amit Maru in the case.
