Chief Minister Sonowa had lattended the flag-off ceremony of JNNURAM-II Air Conditioned Bus Service under Assam State Urban Transport Corporation at the Inter-State Bus Terminus (ISBT) in Guwahati, today. 46 Air Conditioned Buses were flagged off as part of this program. CM sure the introduction of these buses will help in increasing passenger mobility as well as comfort.
While addressing the gathering, he stressed on the importance of keeping these buses neat and clean. It is the collective duty of all stakeholders including the passengers to keep these buses clean. These buses should act as a messenger and promote the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan in every corner of the State. Cleanliness, discipline and punctuality will hold the key to the success of these buses as well as ASTC. Assam Government's focus is to convert ASTC into a key revenue generating department of the state.
