A hardcore cadre of the National Democratic Front of Bodoland (Songbijit) was killed in an encounter with security forces at Champa bazar in Chirang district of Assam. Sources revealed that an encounter with heavy bullets exchange between the militant taking shelter in the area and the security forces took place in the area. One AK47 rifle, one 7.65 pisol and several rounds live ammunition have been recovered from the slain militant.
