Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday made a surprise visits to the Barpeta Medical College and Hospital to learn about the quality of services being extended to the patients.
About 50 per cent doctors were found absent during the surprise visit. Sarma has instructed the officials to initiate action against the doctors and staff who were found absent during the surprise visit.
“In a surprise, unannounced visit to #Barpeta Medical College & Hospital to review facilities and check delivery readiness for patients,” Sarma tweeted.
“Shockingly I found that abt 50% faculty at Barpeta Medical College is habitual & permanent absentee. We'll take very strict action on this,” he added.[Source::Pratidin Time]
