Security beefed up in Assam ahead of R-Day

Security measures have been beefed up in Assam to ensure that there are no major law and order problems before and during the Republic Day celebration.

The alert has been sounded in the state in view of intelligence reports that ULFA may carry out subversive activities.

The police and security forces in Guwahati have been alerted to thwart possible strikes by the hardline faction of the ULFA after receiving some “disturbing inputs” on the plans of the outfit to create disturbance in the city prior to the Republic day.[ Courtesy ::Pratidin Time ]
