Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal addressed the Conference of the Deputy Commissioners and Superintendents of Police at Assam Administrative Staff College in Guwahati on Thursday.
Addressing the conference, Sonowal said that Assam has a historic opportunity to prepare a constitutional document in the form of NRC updation.
“It's a national service that we have to achieve as Team Assam. To build a clean and accountable system to achieve true development of Assam good governance and development go hand in hand,” he said.
He instructed the DCs and SPs to ensure that common citizens get due respect and hearing in all Government offices to achieve good governance.
Sonowal also directed them to continue with the eviction process of illegal encroachers throughout the State without any compromise.
“NRC update and Sealing of Indo-Bangla border are two of our topmost priorities as these are connected to national security and sovereignty. As a State sharing international border and having a sensitive geo-strategic location as its position, we have to be watchful against anti-India forces,” he added.[Source::Pratidin Time]
